چکیده

Background Patient selection for coronary angiography traditionally relies on clinical assessment, treadmill exercise testing (TMET) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is a relatively novel imaging study, which provides excellent non-invasive assessment of myocardial perfusion and is useful in risk stratification of patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD).

Cost evaluation of cardiovascular magnetic resonance versus coronary angiography for the diagnostic work-up of coronary artery disease: Application of the European Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance registry data to the German, United Kingdom, Swiss, and United States health care systems

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has favorable characteristics for diagnostic evaluation and risk stratification of patients with known or suspected CAD. CMR utilization in CAD detection is growing fast. However, data on its cost-effectiveness are scarce. The goal of this study is to compare the costs of two strategies for detection of significant coronary artery stenoses in p...

Clinical evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging in coronary heart disease: The CE-MARC study

BACKGROUND Several investigations are currently available to establish the diagnosis of coronary heart disease (CHD). Of these, cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) offers the greatest information from a single test, allowing the assessment of myocardial function, perfusion, viability and coronary artery anatomy. However, data from large scale studies that prospectively evaluate the diagnost...

Cost-effectiveness of cardiovascular magnetic resonance and single-photon emission computed tomography for diagnosis of coronary artery disease in Germany

BACKGROUND Recent studies have demonstrated a superior diagnostic accuracy of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) for the detection of coronary artery disease (CAD). We aimed to determine the comparative cost-effectiveness of CMR versus single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). METHODS Based on Bayes' theorem, a mathematical model was developed to compare the cost-effectiveness ...

Myocardial perfusion.

Noninvasive cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging has progressed rapidly over the past few years and will most likely become an integral part of the diagnostic workup of patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). In this article the rationale for using perfusion-CMR is discussed, followed by a summary of current state-of-the-art perfusion-CMR techniques that addresses ph...

Incremental cost-effectiveness of exercise echocardiography vs. SPECT imaging for the evaluation of stable chest pain.

AIMS Technological advances in cardiac imaging have led to dramatic increases in test utilization and consumption of a growing proportion of cardiovascular healthcare costs. The opportunity costs of strategies favouring exercise echocardiography or SPECT imaging have been incompletely evaluated. METHODS AND RESULTS We examined prognosis and cost-effectiveness of exercise echocardiography (n =...
